Bonobo Update: A note from Jordy Catalano

We are thrilled to share that construction for our newest hotel precinct, The Bonobo by Raes, is well underway in the heart of Byron.

With the project now less than 12 months from completion and over 75% of Hotel-Apartments pre-sold, momentum is building as this exciting new chapter in the Raes story comes to life.

Located on Jonson Street, construction is progressing smoothly and remains on track for completion by the end of the year. With all basement works complete and Levels 1 and 2 poured, the vertical structure is now rising above street level – revealing the striking architectural form that will define the precinct. In the coming months, the rooftop pool and deck will take shape, ahead of the detailed fit-out of internal spaces and guest rooms – all of which is very exciting.

We’re pleased to offer a first look at some of the amenities that will shape the guest experience. At its heart, The Lobby Bar will provide a relaxed yet refined setting, from morning coffee through to aperitivo hour. Meanwhile, the Wellness Centre – featuring steam and sauna rooms, ice baths, and more – will offer a calming space to unwind and recharge.

With the first stage set to open in late 2025, The Bonobo by Raes offers a fresh take on the Raes experience – blending laid-back luxury with thoughtful design, tailored to a new style of stay in Byron Bay.
